Women’s empowerment against sexist harassment in public space

FPS aims to develop and strengthen self-confidence and self-concept through soft skills and Emotional Intelligence in the target group, enabling them to achieve an adequate level of empowerment and coping with situations of male harassment in public spaces.

FPS focuses on achieving learning and developing attitudes and skills of inclusion and respect for diversity. The project will work against gender stereotypes, supporting people in the acquisition and development of basic skills, to eliminate discrimination, inequality or exclusion, which women suffer in the EU due to the existence of gender roles and stereotypes

Project Objectives

1.To raise awareness and sensitise at least 600 members of local communities in the project countries on the need to prevent and address gender-based violence in the public space, understanding the mechanisms that explain it, in the first 8 months of the project..

2. To train a minimum of 120 potential women victims of this type of violence to position themselves in the face of aggressions with assertiveness and self-confidence, managing emotional intelligence competences, in 8 months.
3. Promote individual and collective participation in detecting, communicating, and acting in cases of male violence in public spaces. Working with 300 members of the communities on the management of practical tools based on Emotional Intelligence, in the last 8 months of the project

Target of The project

The project has a double target group:

– On the one hand, there are social workers, volunteers, and/or workers of public and private organizations working in the field of gender equality and in direct contact with women, in dealing with and preventing possible sexual harassment in public spaces.

– On the other hand, the final beneficiaries are women of legal age who carry out their personal and professional activities in public spaces.
