Emotional Intelligence for Emotional Resilience

2021-1-ES01-KA220-ADU-000026157

It is getting more common to hear about the importance of Emotional Intelligence (EI) in several aspects of our everyday lives, from a personal perspective to a professional level. According to several studies in the field, “people with high EQ are 7.6 times more likely to have high outcome scores” when we consider effectiveness, relationships, wellbeing & quality of life.

Project Objectives:

The project’s main objectives are to support adults with fewer opportunities, i.e. belonging to socially disadvantaged backgrounds, unemployed, facing economic and geographical obstacles, belonging to ethnic or national minorities, immigrants, refugees, and adults with disabilities, to develop abilities in managing their emotions and becoming more resilient emotionally.

Beneficiaries of the project:

Psychologists and professionals working with personal development, improving life skills, ensuring the wellbeing of adults
Universities, adult education centres, and business consultancies.
Education/training organizations, NGOs and institutes, VET centers
Local authorities and policymakers
Members of national advisory boards and experts from associated partners and stakeholder.

Project Result:

R1: “EI4Future”- Emotional Intelligence for Emotional Resilience” – Training Materials with Techniques Using Gamification

EI4Future project consortium will develop a Handbook that will help adults with fewer opportunities to acquire EI skills. The handbook will present gamification elements, in particular the development of cards containing tasks to support them.

The methodology used is established on the 8 Traits of Emotional Resilience, Gamification, NFE, and problem-solving techniques. Gamification is particularly important, especially considering that adults with fewer opportunities are the main target of this result: including visual cards will have a broad number of benefits, particularly in those cases where language could be a barrier for communication (in case of adult refugees, immigrants, etc…).

R2: MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) “EI4Future – Emotional Intelligence for Emotional Resilience

The MOOC will be based on the results of R1, making the two results complementary. It will:

  • Involve adults with fewer opportunities, especially those facing geographical obstacles (such as living in remote or rural areas, less-serviced areas), disabilities, but also economic obstacles since the MOOC will be free and open to all.
  • Include texts, integrated videos and audio related to the Emotional Management topic in a digital, and attractive way for learners, using visualising of transferable information.
  • Motivate learners thanks to tests, quizzes, forums, and self-assessment and evaluation forms.
